March 29: 1/2 chicken, 1/2 steak, extra rice, hot salsa, chips (College Boulevard, Overland Park, Kansas)
good burrito today. the meat was spicy and hot, but not too spicy and hot; the rice was warm and moist, but not too warm and moist; the hot salsa had its usual kick. plus, for good measure, i added a little bit of salt from both the chips and the salt shaker today. of course, now i'm thirstier than usual. but that's ok -- it was worth it.
in other news, we have decided to refer to the official mother of burritoman as "burritomom." seems only right.

March 24: 1/2 chicken, 1/2 steak, extra rice, hot salsa, chips (College Boulevard, Overland Park, Kansas)
good burrito today. had to take it back to the office and dripped a bit of hot salsa on my desk. it's so strong that i was concerned it would burn the finish off of the desk, but luckily it did not.
forty-two burritos after today. 42 is an important number to fans of a certain novelist. run a search for the number to figure out why.

March 18: 1/2 chicken, 1/2 steak, extra rice, hot salsa, chips (College Boulevard, Overland Park, Kansas)
i joined two burritoman fans, Amy R. and Stacy B., for burritos today. the line was not too bad, but the line -- especially the cashier -- was unbelievably slow. the same slow burrito maker from Tuesday was there, too; but it was really the cashier's fault this time. at one point, there were almost a dozen burritos wrapped and waiting in line for checkout. i have never seen it so slow.
i tried adding a bit of salt to the burrito today. it was really good, although i probably don't need the extra salt. the steak/chicken combo was excellent today, and the chips were well-salted, too -- although Stacy and Amy did not want chips and so i had to eat them all myself.
Jerrod W.'s burrito herniated and had beans poking out one side.

March 17: 1/2 chicken, 1/2 steak, extra rice, hot salsa, chips (College Boulevard, Overland Park, Kansas)
in honor of St. Patrick's Day, i considered getting all things green -- guac, lettuce, medium salsa... but i couldn't bring myself to do it.
the burrito was a nice base for my later St. Patrick's Day activities.
the burrito was very good, if not the juiciest burrito i've eaten. there was just too much cilantro in the rice, though, and quite a bit of it ended up getting stuck in my teeth. on the plus side, the the chips were well-salted.
Jerrod W.'s burrito herniated and had beans poking out one side.

March 16: 1/2 chicken, 1/2 steak, extra rice, hot salsa, chips (College Boulevard, Overland Park, Kansas)
this pre-St. Patrick's Day burrito was very good. the chicken-steak mix worked great today and was very juicy. unfortunately, the chips were undersalted.
there was a new burrito maker today, and he was pretty slow. didn't help the wait much. i'm chalking up the delay to the fact that he's a tyro at this. soon he'll learn the trick of starting a second burrito while you're making the one before it.

following an apparent al-Qaeda attack in Madrid, Spain has now announced that it is withdrawing its troops from Iraq. isn't this a bad sign to send? apparently terrorism does work, after all. (perhaps it's their border with France.)
March 15: 1/2 chicken, 1/2 steak, extra rice, hot salsa, chips (College Boulevard, Overland Park, Kansas)
our lawsuit has settled; as a result, i finally have time to take care of the more important things in life: burritos.
the steak was again very juicy, which led to a wonderful commingling of juices and hot salsa. the chips were salty, too, and served as excellent delivery devices for the introduction of additional hot salsa resources into the burrito. life is good.

today is my 37th burrito of the year. 37 is a special number. it has previously been noted by a number of my friends that between 21 and 100, it seems like the number "37" is far more common than most other numbers. for example: Shakespeare wrote 37 plays.
for more information on 37, see this link.
in the meantime: steak was very juicy, chips were salty, burrito was good.

we're preparing for trial, so we had to bring these back for dinner. the burrito was great -- although the salsa guy was new tonight and darn near killed me with an entire scoop of hot salsa. the chips were very salty, which was great.

from loyal burritoman fans "The Three Tacos":
Hey burrito man- Just thought that you would be interested to know that 2 out of the 3 tacos went to Chipotle for lunch today. One taco has a fajita burrito bol, and she states that is was scrumptious, although she would have been happier with a bit more chicken. One taco had 2 chicken soft tacos. They were good, however the tortillas were warmed up just a bit too long, in turn making them hard. We also got chips, salsa, and guac. The salsa and guac were yummy, but we didn't get enough chips.
Do you have any pull with getting the chip hookup??Any chip connections?
thanks for e-mailing, Tacos. much appreciated.

March 4: 1/2 chicken, 1/2 steak, extra rice, hot salsa, chips (College Boulevard, Overland Park, Kansas)
back to half and half (although the scoops were remarkably generous today). the burrito was again remarkably juicy. not sure if they've started doing something differently with the cooking process but if they have, it's working.
also, there were plenty of chips and they were salted, if slightly unevenly. but no complaints here.
we went early today -- around 11:30 -- and it was good that we did. at 12:15, the line was longer than i have ever seen -- wrapping all the way around the central dining area and back toward the bathrooms. unbelievable.
good crowd today: Heidi S., Chelsi H., Jeff J., Jerrod W., and Toby C. all came along for the ride. also, Kori C., Toby C.'s wife, joined us as well and chowed down on her burrito like an old pro (which she may, in fact, be -- i have no idea). the conversations varied on several topics, including politics, dating or lack thereof, weekend plans, and the many wrongs that Toby apparently committed in college.

March 2: chicken, steak, extra rice, hot salsa, chips (College Boulevard, Overland Park, Kansas)
both the chicken and the steak looked so good today that i made the rare decision to pay extra and order a full scoop of both. tremendous decision: both meats were wonderful, and this was one of the most satisfying burritos i have had in a long time. also, the chips were appropriately salted and the rice was again very moist. it was like a perfect burrito storm; or maybe the stars had aligned just right; but this was probably a top ten burrito.

March 1: chicken, extra rice, hot salsa, chips (College Boulevard, Overland Park, Kansas)
the steak looked a little rare for my taste today, so i went with chicken. great call on my part. the chicken was very juicy; the rice was moist, which helps combine the juices and hot salsa into a wonderful concoction. added bonus: the chips were super-salty today.
i am wearing a suit today, which means i am also wearing a white shirt and tie. this poses an interesting problem. it is readily apparent from my five years of experience with Chipotle that burritos and the things inside of them are strongly attracted to starched white shirts -- especially if you have a hearing later in the day. more than once has a wayward piece of rice or pepper or chicken jumped from foil-wrapped security to the unknown of my lap by way of white shirt. i call this "getting Chipotle-d," as in "i ate a burrito today and on the second to last bite got Chipotle-d by a big chunk of chicken. i look like an idiot."
luckily, i didn't get Chipotle-d today.
